MICHIGAN DOG SLEDDING WEEKEND: HUSKY HAVEN

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 19TH 2025 - SUNDAY DECEMBER 21ST, 2025

SHINGLETON, MI | WOMEN’S DOG SLEDDING WEEKEND

TOTAL COST: TBD | DEPOSIT: TBD (THIS IS NON REFUNDABLE)

REGISTRATION OPENS: FRIDAY 08/15/2025

COORDINATOR: KENDALL BENTLY

We’re heading back to the snow-covered forests of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for a winter experience that’s both humbling and unforgettable. After falling in love with Husky Haven Kennels last year, we couldn’t wait to return and now, you can be part of the magic. Dog sledding is more than just a thrill ride, it’s a tradition rooted in centuries of Arctic exploration and survival. Once a vital means of transportation across remote northern terrain, it has evolved into a celebrated sport and a powerful way to connect with the land, the dogs, and yourself. Whether it’s been on your bucket list for years or you’re just discovering the idea, this is your chance to cross it off in a truly meaningful way.

On Saturday, we’ll spend time at the kennel meeting the Alaskan Huskies and learning about the dogs, the sport, and the lives of the mushers who dedicate themselves to this craft. Then you’ll take the reins, literally, on an 8–10 mile guided sled run through snowy trails and quiet wilderness. You’ll drive your own sled, guided by experienced outfitters who are there every step of the way to ensure you're comfortable and confident. It’s a unique mix of excitement, calm, and connection that you won’t find anywhere else. No experience is needed and all equipment is provided. This is an ideal entry point for anyone curious, adventurous, or just ready to try something new.

After our sledding adventure, the rest of Saturday is flexible. If you’re up for more, we can check out nearby winter gems like Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, local ice caves, or even a warm soak in a hidden Upper Peninsula hot spring, depending on weather and group interest.

If adaptability and going with the flow are not things you're comfortable with, we respectfully suggest reconsidering your participation in our trips.

  • Zero tolerance for drama, negativity, or behavior that impacts the group.

We maintain a strict no-drama policy. Any participant who brings negativity, disrupts the group dynamic, or disrespects staff or others will be asked to leave without a refund and will not be invited back to future events. We are here to build community, confidence, and lasting memories in the outdoors. Thank you for being part of that mission and for helping us keep our trips positive, welcoming, and fun for all!

TRIP EXPECTATIONS + NO DRAMA POLICY

At Her Wilderness, our goal is to provide a safe, fun, and empowering outdoor experience for every woman who joins us. That said, outdoor adventures come with a level of unpredictability, especially when weather, wildlife, and group dynamics are involved. We ask all participants to bring a flexible mindset and a positive attitude. Weather conditions, guide recommendations, and other factors may require last-minute changes to activities, schedules, or game pursued (for example, switching from a duck hunt to a goose hunt if conditions call for it). These decisions are made with your safety and the quality of the experience in mind. If adaptability and going with the flow are not things you're comfortable with, we respectfully suggest reconsidering your participation in our trips.

What You Can Expect:

  • Outdoor conditions may change plans—including hunts, hikes, or water access.

  • You may share lodging with others.

  • Some locations may have limited facilities.

  • There is no guarantee of harvesting a specific species.

  • We do everything we can to deliver a great experience—no matter the challenge.

What We Expect:

  • A respectful, go-with-the-flow attitude.

  • Willingness to adapt to changes in schedule or activity.

TRIP REGISTRATION AND CONTACT INFORMATION

We’re thrilled to announce a new booking and payment system aimed at enhancing your experience! Starting October 1, 2024, all trip registrations will be processed through WeTravel. Once you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email via the WeTravel platform. Your trip coordinator will then reach out with detailed information about your adventure and schedule two virtual video meetings for all trip attendees. The coordinator will share their email and other contact information with you at their discretion, so please respect their boundaries and contact them only through the provided information. A quick reminder: personal social media profiles are not the best way to reach out to your coordinator. If you have any questions or need assistance regarding the trip, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at questions@herwilderness.co. We look forward to making your experience exceptional!

SEDONA SOUL RETREAT: DESERT AWAKENING

WHY HER WILDERNESS?

Since 2019, Her Wilderness has been redefining the outdoor space for women. Our mission is to empower women through meaningful outdoor experiences, whether that’s hunting, fishing, hiking, or simply stepping into nature with confidence. Every trip we offer is designed to help you grow, connect, and feel truly alive. We know outdoor adventures can feel intimidating, especially if you’re new to it. That’s why our trips are women-only, designed to be welcoming, safe, and encouraging. No judgment. No pressure. Just a group of like-minded women supporting each other as we explore new skills and discover new passions.

LODGING ACCOMMODATIONS

The lodging accommodations that are included in your trip are always tailored to women looking for a welcoming and spacious atmosphere to foster friendships! Our cozy accommodations offer ample room to relax and unwind, featuring large common areas where you can connect with fellow guests.  When selecting a space, we prioritize spaces that create a serene escape, complemented by shared amenities that encourage camaraderie and comfort. You’ll find well-maintained shared bedrooms and bathrooms, ensuring a pleasant experience for everyone. Please note that during this trip, you may need to share a bed / bedroom with another participant. We appreciate your understanding as this helps foster a sense of camaraderie and community among all attendees. Feel free to socialize in the kitchen and living areas or enjoy the fresh air outside. Whether you’re joining us for a quick weekend getaway or an extended stay, we strive to choose an environment that nurtures a sense of community while providing all the comforts of home. Embrace the chance to make new friends and create lasting memories during this unique experience! Once you connect with your trip coordinator, they will share more specific details about your lodging accommodations.

DEPOSIT + PAYMENT INFORMATION

We are able to offer this weekend at only $TBD per person, which will include a nonrefundable deposit of $TBD and 2 additional payment of $TBD. Please read carefully: All payments must be made by their due dates. If you anticipate a delay, we encourage you to communicate with us, and we will do our best to work with you. However, if payments are overdue and we have not heard from you, we will assume you are forfeiting your spot, and any payments made will not be refunded. By registering for any wilderness trip, you acknowledge that the deposit is non-refundable, with no exceptions. For more details about our refund policy, please click here.
